What our insurance covers

Insurance

Death or total permanent disability from an accident at work:

AXA will pay a lump sum of €1,000. This generally corresponds to a transfer of money to the beneficiary over a year.

Assistance

Assistance with death formalities:

- Contacting funeral services.

- Helping draw up the death announcement.

- Indicating the procedures to be carried out (regarding local authorities).

 

Repatriation of the body:

- Up to €1,000 in repatriating the body to the designated country.

- The funerary material (coffin, tent, etc.), up to €800.

- The funeral services (the costs of placing the body in the coffin on location), up to €1,250.

- Up to €400 reimbursed in travel costs for a person to accompany the deceased from Belgium to the place of burial.

How to get my life and disability insurance in branch

Fill in the opening form and read the informative document about your insurance.

That's it! All you have to do is make a money transfer with your Smile Account and your insurance will be activated automatically. We'll send you a confirmation SMS!

If you want to renew it, 10 days before it expires, we will send you another SMS informing you so that you can go to the branch to make a money transfer and renew your insurance.

How do I activate it if I get a new Smile Account?

Simply log into the website or app and access the Smile Account area on the dashboard. Once inside, click on “Activate Insurance” and fill out the form to give your consent. We’ll send you a confirmation text message and email!

Remember that you can renew your one month insurance cover 2 more times for free by making a money transfer.

Coverage will start when you activate your insurance by making a money transfer. Your cover will end when one of these events takes place: - At the end of the one-month coverage period if you do not make a new money transfer; -After 3 consecutive monthly renewals maximum, - In the event of the occurrence of the loss that gave rise to the payment of the guaranteed capital; - In case of death of the insured person; - In case of a change of fiscal residence outside Belgium; - At the latest on the day of the insured's 70th birthday.
