Discover the Arabic language through proverbs!

Table of contents

Human beings have always used different languages, written or signed, to communicate with their counterparts. In this way, they can transmit their ideas, emotions and thoughts through language. This is, in turn, a very important way that allows us to know, discover and interact with cultures and civilizations of different cultures and countries

December 18 is the World Day for the Arabic language, a pillar of humanity’s cultural diversity. Arabic is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world: it is used every day by more than 280 million people.

With its diversity of forms, from classical to dialectal, from orality to poetic calligraphy, the Arabic language has given rise to a fascinating aesthetic, in fields as varied as architecture, poetry, philosophy, song… Arabic gives access to an incredible variety of identities and beliefs, and its history expresses the richness of its links with other languages. It acted as a catalyst of knowledge, promoting the transmission of Greek and Roman sciences and philosophies to Renaissance Europe. It also transported the dialogue of cultures along the Silk Roads, from the coasts of India to the Horn of Africa.

To celebrate the Arabic language, we have selected some of our favorite Arabic proverbs:

Learning and speaking Arabic is undoubtedly a unique opportunity to discover amazing cultures and understand the many commonalities that unite human beings. Are you in the mood?

After Latin, it is the second most influential language in Spanish. More than four thousand words in Spanish are of Arabic origin. And many of them are used daily, such as: for example: sugar, mayor, olives, syrup, hopefully? So it won’t be so hard for you to learn! 😜

Faced with the changes that are shaking the world and the emergence of plural societies, each language is a key to better living together, creating relationships of solidarity and helping each person to make their voice heard. Multilingualism is a force for rapprochement between peoples and cultures. The closer cultures come together, the better it is for people, especially young people, to master several languages and to know the works and values they bring to broaden the horizons of dialogue and cooperation. Such is the spirit of the multicultural Moneytrans team!
